Role: Visual design and photography
Project Brief
Mass Innovation Labs is a shared workspace to help scientists who are on the next stage of their medical development. It offered lab spaces to those individuals or companies who didn't have a lab setup or didn't have the budget to set one up. They hired me to do design a logo, design the website and do photography for the site and collateral material.
Logo Design
The client wanted the logo convey science and workspace. I offered several versions in which tried to illustrate this. After presenting several options, we narrowed it down a final four.
Final
This is the final logo they chose in the end because it gave the scientific (not overwhelming) feeling as well as showing a main hub for all the pieces to come together.
Website Design
The client chose Squarespace as their platform, so a lot of elements had to be reusable such as icons, buttons, form fields and images. I designed out the home page as well as an about us pages. Naturally I started out with wire-frames which helped them understand the structure of the site. I then went and provided them with some homepage designs.
Photography
Lastly, they needed photography done for the site as well. I took shots of some of the labs as well as headshots and group shots of the team.
